Case Study: Achieving 100% Test Coverage Through AI & Automation

How TTQA eliminated over 825 hours of manual testing and optimized developer capacity for a Tier-1 Telecommunications Provider.

Executive Summary

A major telecommunications enterprise processing large-scale government orders faced a critical bottleneck: their delivery platform required 825 hours, roughly five months of manual labor, to achieve full coverage across 3,300 test scenarios.

TTQA designed and implemented a fully automated end-to-end (E2E) testing framework that compressed this workload to under 40 hours. The suite runs entirely outside business hours, using an integrated AI agent to automatically document defects and report coverage in real time.

The Challenge

Massive Scale

Six major order types with hundreds of variations totaling 3,300 scenarios.

Manual Inefficiency

Each scenario required an average of 15 min to execute manually, leading to only 1–3% coverage per sprint.

Resource Misalignment

Developers were frequently pulled from feature work to support QA, delaying critical product launches.

Risk Exposure

Minimal coverage resulted in high defect leakage and a lack of traceability.

The Solution: Automated E2E Framework

TTQA built a purpose-built automation pipeline using open-source tools to exercise the complete lifecycle of bulk orders:

Parallel Execution

Utilized a parallel engine to distribute tests across 6 concurrent browser sessions, cutting execution time by 95%.

GUI-Driven Flows

Automated web UI interactions (tab-by-tab) to mimic human operators for order submission and status polling.

Data Integration

Leveraged Python-based drivers for direct DB queries to verify order states and handle bulk-upload workbooks.

AI-Powered Documentation

An AI agent automatically ingests results and files context-rich defects in the client’s tracking system, eliminating manual administrative entry.

Key Outcomes

100% Test Coverage

Achieved full coverage of all ordering process variations for the first time.

Rapid Cycle Times

3,300 scenarios now execute in <40 hours (overnight / unattended), down from 5 months.

Developer Freedom

Reclaimed capacity of 3 senior developers, allowing them to focus exclusively on high-priority feature work.

Zero Manual Effort

The framework runs autonomously, with reports and auto-filed defects available by the start of the next business day.
